Installation

Step-by-step installation guide for POPX TouchDesigner operators. Download, system requirements, setup, and parameter help.

System Requirements

Windows

  • Operating System – Microsoft Windows 10 / Windows 11
  • GPU Memory – A minimum of 4GB GPU memory, 8GB+ is recommended
  • GPU Drivers – The most recent Nvidia, AMD, or Intel drivers are recommended. TouchDesigner requires a GPU and drivers that support Vulkan 1.1
  • Nvidia GPUs – Geforce 1000-series or better, Quadro/RTX Pascal series or better. Requires Driver 530.00 or newer, 581.00 or later recommended
  • AMD GPUs – Radeon 5000 series or better (RDNA architecture GPUs)
  • Intel GPUs – 500 and newer GPUs (not the 5000, 6000 series)

Apple Mac

  • Operating System – Apple macOS 13 (Ventura) and up
  • Hardware – Mac Pro / iMac / Mac Mini / MacBook Pro / MacBook Air 2020+. Your Mac must support macOS 13 or higher, but we recommend running the latest macOS
  • Apple Silicon – We highly recommend a Mac with Apple Silicon for TouchDesigner. For Intel-based Macs we recommend a model with a discrete AMD GPU

Installation Steps

  • Subscribe at popx.tools and download the POPX.tox package from your account.
  • Open your TouchDesigner project.
  • Drag the POPX.tox file directly into your network.
  • Your project may freeze momentarily while the system initializes – this is normal.
  • Once loaded, the POPX component will appear at the root level of your project.
  • Press Tab to open the OP Create Dialog – you’ll now see the new POPX Operators Family available for use.

Parameter Help

Each POPX operator includes comprehensive help descriptions for all parameters. To view parameter help in TouchDesigner:

  • Hold Alt (Windows/Linux) or Option (macOS)
  • Hover your mouse over any parameter in the parameter UI
  • A tooltip will appear with a detailed description of that parameter

About Page & Quick Help

Every POPX operator includes an About parameter page with a Help toggle that opens a direct link to the operator’s documentation page on this website. This provides instant access to detailed information, examples, and usage guides for each operator.
